5-Morning Building Substitute
As-Needed Substitute Teachers
Fairville Friends School seeks a warm and caring person who loves working with children to serve as a building substitute for the 2025-26 school year. Our substitute may assist in any of our classrooms supporting children ages two through kindergarten. Fairville Friends School is a Quaker preschool with an emphasis on learning through play. We are also adding candidates to our substitute roster. Sometimes we know our needs for in advance, but often these are early-morning calls for help!

Position Responsibilities
Our Building Substitute provides support in our classrooms each morning from 8:15am-12:30/1:00pm. Placement will vary within our classrooms for children ages two through kindergarten. This is an assistant position supporting the classroom lead teacher. Bachelor of Arts or Science preferred but not required. Other requirements include:
Experience with and love of young children.
Patience, compassion, and sense of humor.
Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
Appreciation of the natural world, including animals. .
A broad repertoire of strategies to work with children with diverse needs and abilities.
Excitement about working closely and collaboratively with other staff members.
A high level of interest in and willingness to learn about Quaker education.
All federal and state clearances required for school settings.
We look for staff who love working with young children, and who appreciate the value of play both inside the classroom and in the great outdoors. All substitutes are required to complete all federal and Pennsylvania state clearances and trainings required for working in a school setting.
